Our Mission

EMPOWERING YOU
THROUGH DATA

We believe every person deserves to understand their body. Lylac Health combines clinical science with modern AI to make intimate and vaginal health accessible, personal, and stigma-free.

Our Story

WHY LYLAC?

Intimate health has been under-researched and over-stigmatized for too long. Conditions like bacterial vaginosis affect millions of people, yet most lack the tools to understand their own patterns or catch problems early.

Lylac Health was founded to change that. By combining simple at-home pH tracking with advanced AI analysis, we give people real insights about their bodies — not generic advice, but personalized understanding built on their own data.

THE NAME

"Lylac" is inspired by the lilac flower — a symbol of renewal, confidence, and the first bloom of spring. It represents our belief that understanding your health is the beginning of feeling empowered.

What We Stand For

OUR VALUES

SCIENCE-FIRST

Every insight is grounded in clinical research. Our pH classification is rules-based and deterministic — no guesswork, no hype.

PRIVACY-CENTRIC

Your health data is sacred. We never sell it, never share it without consent, and you can delete everything at any time.

STIGMA-FREE

Vaginal health is health. We create a space where everyone can learn about their bodies without shame or judgment.

Looking Ahead · Our Vision

We are building the most comprehensive intimate-health data platform in the world, one reading at a time. And we are doing it with our community.

UNDERSTANDING VAGINAL pH

pH measures how acidic or alkaline something is, on a scale from 0 (very acidic) to 14 (very alkaline). A healthy vaginal environment is naturally acidic — that acidity is one of the body's most powerful defenses against infection.

What can change your pH?

SexSemen is alkaline. pH typically returns to normal within 12 hours.
AntibioticsCan wipe out protective Lactobacilli, leading to short-term imbalance.
DouchingDisrupts natural flora. Most clinicians recommend avoiding it.
HormonesPregnancy, menopause, and contraceptives all shift pH.
Stress & sleepIndirect, but persistent stress weakens the microbiome over time.
Note: pH testing is not reliable during menstruation, since menstrual blood (pH ~7.4) masks the vaginal reading. We recommend pausing pH measurements while bleeding.

When to see a doctor

  • Strong fishy or foul odor, especially after sex
  • Unusual discharge — gray, green, frothy, or cottage-cheese-like
  • Itching, burning, or pain that lasts more than 3 days
  • Pelvic or lower-abdominal pain, fever, or chills
  • Painful urination, blood in urine, or back pain — possible UTI
  • pH ≥ 5.0 sustained over multiple days with any of the above

Lylac is for tracking and education — it is not a diagnostic tool. When in doubt, talk to a healthcare professional.
